(Note: RECORD RUN REQUIRES SONGS TO BE STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE. Songs stored in the cloud must be downloaded to your device to be used. )

Record Run features an amazing hand-painted art style, characters with tons of personality, and moment-to-moment gameplay that’s deeply musical and crazy fun. Users select songs from the music library on their device and run through levels along with their music that are created on the spot by all new Harmonix magic. Unlock content and currency through a series of exciting “missions” that track your progress and transform the city into an amazing “Groove World."

Pros and cons of Record Run app for iPhone and iPad

Record Run app good for

I have no idea why this app isnt huge. I also dont know why people arent using the concept of games where you can upload youre own songs. This is one of my favorite games. If you like rythym, get this game!
Can’t put this game down. Love the beat. It’s not stop fun. Love the dude. He’s hilarious.
The graphics are really well done, and the concept is great. Would definitely recommend.
Finally, a game that allows me to play using my own music. I love being able to play the game with my own music library. Gameplay is entertaining and I love the artwork.
A solid rhythm-based runner game that is fun, but difficult to master. Its not always clear what move each obstacle requires, but after some practice they become easier to spot at a glance. The ability to use your own tracks definitely bumps the fun factor up a notch. Give it a shot, and dont get immediately discouraged. Each attempt awards a satisfying amount of improvement; enough to press the retry button "just one more time". Recommended.
I dont know what those negative reviews mean, this game is smart and addictive, and it is infinitely personalized for you. If you like music this game is for you!

Some bad moments

I like the idea of an endless runner with my own music, but the game fails to deliver a compelling experience. The gameplay is dull, compared to other endless runners, and worst yet, the gameplay does not reflect the music you choose. An interesting concept for a game, but falls short, and can hardly be recommended for a download.
Its a fun game and a big reason I downloaded it was because it advertises that you can play your own music in the game and play along. Every song I tried though tells me that it is protected and. An not be used. Even music that I recorded myself using GarageBand says it is protected. If thats the case, how do I play ANY music? Unless Im missing something, you cant... Bummer.
The controls for this game are so unresponsive, you cant even complete the tutorial.
When I try to add music that I’ve purchased from iTunes it says “This music is protected and not supported by the game” and won’t let me use it, however I can use music purchased or downloaded out of iTunes (Bandcamp, etc). This seems like a huge oversight, considering that’s one of the game’s biggest features, and the game downloadable in the iTunes app store….. Also, the whole game is on a weird angle which makes swiping left-right, up-down really difficult. I don’t know what the logic was behind that decision but it’s really really silly. Would be better if it was straight on, like Temple Run or Subway Surfers
Have been able to open the game once. Controls are bad, was not able to load my music. It constantly crashes on the load screen. Make sure your app actually works before you launch it
The game keeps crashing. I cant get past the tutorial without it freezing and/or crashing. Unresponsive controls lead to frustrating gameplay.
